EDUCATION
WHY TRAIN DOGS?
In my opinion, dog training is essential for at least three main reasons:
1. For your dog’s safety
Certain basic commands are essential, such as “come,” which can literally save your dog’s life in certain situations.
2. To strengthen the bond between a dog and its owner
Training your dog is, above all, about spending time with him. These moments become opportunities for bonding, interaction, and fun. Training is about learning to communicate better with each other and building a clear relationship based on mutual trust.
3. To meet your dog’s physical and mental needs
Your dog needs to burn off energy but also needs intellectual stimulation. Dog training allows him to combine these two aspects: learning to think while getting exercise. Every new skill he learns engages his cognitive abilities and helps him progress.
And beyond these three points, dog training also involves:
• Understanding Your Dog Better to Care for Them More Effectively
• Learning to Interpret Their Body Language and Cues
• Finding Solutions for Certain Problem Behaviors

Dog Training Through the Eyes of Les Vacances des Poilus
“Understand him to teach him”
My name is Sandrine. I am a state-certified dog trainer and hold a vocational certificate in dog training, which I earned after eight months of training at the CFPPA in Landes.
I offer a personalized training program tailored to your dog’s personality and temperament, as well as your own expectations.
Lessons are conducted on a one-on-one basis to provide you with personalized guidance. We always start with a theoretical session to help you understand how your dog behaves, because you can’t train a dog without understanding its language and cues.
Even though dogs have lived alongside us for centuries, they remain creatures with their own way of communicating.
At Les Vacances des Poilus, kindness and a positive attitude are at the heart of the training process. A dog doesn’t want to learn under pressure, stress, or fear.
It is by fostering trust, motivation, and enjoyment that education becomes a true shared adventure.
